Warehouse Stock Control Case Study
UK Shuttle is based in Swindon and is a 'one stop shop' for storage and distribution. Its clients range from small independents to high street names.
The WITS Warehouse Management System is integral to the business and gives absolute tracking and trace ability of all stock from Goods Received through storage to pallet and small part picking.
While orders can be entered manually onto the WITS system the majority of orders are electronic file transfer, downloaded automatically from Customer web sites and processed within the WITS system to produce either multiple picks or consolidated picks for manual sortation. The WITS system handles all stock rotation either on date or batch basis.
UK Shuttle Customers can view their stock at any time by logging onto the WITS Data Bureau web system. Similarly Customers can also view incoming and outgoing transactions affecting their stock.

Management reporting on the WITS Warehouse Stock Control system allows stock shortages to be identified with back orders being stacked and issued automatically as new stock arrives at the warehouse. Full 'work in progress' visibility allows for staff optimisation together with distribution planning.
Orders can be received by the WITS Warehouse Stock Control system up until 6 pm with orders shipped for next day delivery.

From the order placement for the WITS system the UK Shuttle Warehouse Stock Control package was configured, modifications carried out to meet operational requirements and installed in under three weeks.
The WITS system was supplied to UK Shuttle on a rental basic so avoiding
high up front costs.
